How much does an interior design project cost?
Full interior design by Ren Design starts at EUR 70 per square metre, net of VAT, with individual pricing above 1,000 m². The fee follows scope and technical content, not the value of the property.

Three things drive the difference in an interior design fee: how much bespoke joinery the project contains, whether construction-level documentation with junction details and schedules is required, and how many site meetings are included. Two apartments of identical area can therefore differ substantially — the square metre is the starting point, not the result.
What the fee includes
The fee is a package, not an hourly rate. It covers unlimited visualisations within the approved design — with animation on request — full CAD and BIM production from a single model, the complete interior construction package of plans, elevations, sections, junction details and schedules, survey drawings to ±1–2 cm, point cloud and online viewer up to 100 m², the full FF&E register with codes and procurement sources, priceable quantities, three site attendances in Budapest and three accompanied showroom visits.

A survey drawing and an as-built drawing are not the same thing. The survey records what is on site before design begins; the as-built records what was actually constructed at the end. The fee covers the survey.
“Unlimited renders” means unlimited within the approved design. While the design is developing, as many visualisations are produced as the decision requires. If the client returns to a different concept after sign-off, that is a new design stage at a new fee — not because the studio is ungenerous, but because sign-off is the point from which procurement and construction begin.
What the fee does not include
The interior design fee does not cover engineering design — structural, mechanical, electrical, fire — or dealings with authorities. These are separately contracted and separately priced, even where Ren Design organises and coordinates them.
It also excludes as-built documentation, digital twin work above 100 m², travel for site attendance outside Budapest, the purchase cost of furniture and materials, and VAT.
Why per square metre, and not on property value
A design fee follows the quantity of work, not the market value of the property. An apartment of a given plan needs the same drawings, the same junction details and the same number of FF&E items in a prime district and on the edge of the city. Value-based fees tie design work to property market movements, which have nothing to do with the depth of the documentation.
This pricing does not suit every project. Anyone looking for a single visualisation of one room will find it expensive, and rightly so. EUR 70 per square metre serves the project where a contractor builds from the drawings, where bespoke joinery is made, and where the cost of incomplete documentation exceeds the design fee by an order of magnitude.
